Which Lotto system to choose?
A system is a way to cover more combinations with a single ticket. It doesn't change the probability of a single bet — it changes the number of bets and their price. This page explains exactly what you're paying for.
Full system: every combination from the numbers you picked
You pick more numbers than the game requires, and the system arranges them into every possible set. In Lotto, seven numbers produce 7 six-number combinations, eight numbers produce 28, nine produce 84, and ten already produce 210. Each of these is a separate bet, so ten numbers in Lotto cost 210 times 5 PLN, which is 1,050 PLN. The advantage is real and easy to overlook: if all six drawn numbers are among your ten, you're guaranteed the jackpot tier — plus a full sweep of lower tiers from the remaining combinations.
Reduced system: a guarantee at a lower tier, not the jackpot
A reduced system takes only part of the full system's combinations, selected so that with an assumed number of hits it guarantees a win at a specific tier. A typical description reads "10 numbers, guaranteed four-number match if five hit": you pay for a dozen or so bets instead of 210, but the guarantee applies to a four-number match, not six. This is a trade-off, not a saving — you give up some combinations, and with them, some of your chances.
What a system does NOT do
It doesn't raise the probability of a single bet, not even by a fraction of a percent. The odds of a jackpot match in a single Lotto bet are 1 in 13,983,816, and that's true regardless of whether the bet came from a system or from manually marking numbers. A system simply buys more bets at once, in an organized way. Ten numbers in a full system produce 210 bets and 210 times the chance — exactly the same as 210 separate tickets for the same total cost.
When a system makes sense
When you want to cover a specific pool of numbers completely and conveniently — with one ticket instead of filling out two hundred. It also makes sense in a group: a full system on ten numbers split among five people is 210 PLN per person instead of 1,050 PLN. It doesn't make sense as a way to "outsmart" the draw, because there is no such way. Before you pay, calculate the cost in the calculator below and compare it to the amount you're actually willing to spend.
How much is left after a win
Since January 1, 2026, winnings above 2,280 PLN are taxed at a rate of 15 percent, up from 10 percent before. The 2,280 PLN threshold hasn't changed and applies to a single win, not an annual total. The tax is withheld by Totalizator Sportowy as the payer, so you receive the amount already reduced and don't settle it yourself. This matters in practice with a system: several lower-tier wins of a few hundred złoty each stay untaxed, because the threshold is applied separately to each one.
Frequently asked questions
- Does a reduced system guarantee a win?
- It guarantees a win at a specific tier PROVIDED you hit the assumed number of hits from your pool. The description "guaranteed four-number match if five hit" means: if five of your numbers come up in the draw, at least one bet will have a four-number match. If you hit fewer, the guarantee doesn't apply.
- How much does a full system on ten numbers cost in Lotto?
- 210 bets at 5 PLN each, which is 1,050 PLN for a single draw. The number of combinations is calculated using the formula for combinations without repetition — the calculator below does this for any number of chosen numbers and for each of the six games.
- Is it better to play a system, or the same number of individual tickets?
- Mathematically it's the same — what counts is the number of bets, not how they're ordered. A system is more convenient and organizes the combinations so that none is repeated or missed. When filling out two hundred tickets by hand, it's easy to make either mistake.
Calculate your system
These calculators estimate the number of bets and their cost. A reduced-system guarantee requires a specific list of bets and verified coverage under stated hit conditions. The price estimate alone does not prove coverage.
