When are the Lotto drawings? Times, broadcast and results

Lotto and Lotto Plus are drawn on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays around 22:00 — in a single episode of Studio Lotto, one drawing after the other. The broadcast is hosted by TVP Info, the official website of Totalizator Sportowy and the operator's channel on YouTube. Results appear online a few minutes after the drawing ends, and the source that settles any doubts remains the official record of Totalizator Sportowy.

Until July 2023, most Totalizator Sportowy games were drawn at 21:40, and this time still circulates in older articles and on forums. Since 1 August 2023, the schedule from the table above has been in force. Eurojackpot, as the only one of these games, is an international lottery and is drawn in Helsinki, not in the Warsaw studio — hence the earlier time and a different set of days.

The word „approximately” is not editorial caution here. Studio Lotto is a television programme, so the start can be shifted by a minute or two — it is safer to check results a few minutes after the stated time than exactly at it. The deadline for accepting bets closes earlier, however, and is fixed: a coupon submitted after closing takes part only in the next drawing.

Where to watch the live broadcast

Studio Lotto has three parallel channels and each shows the same drawing. The first is television — the programme has been broadcast by TVP Info since April 2013, before that by TVP1 for three years. The second is the website of Totalizator Sportowy, where the broadcast starts automatically at the scheduled time. The third is the operator's channel on YouTube, where recordings of individual episodes remain available even after the broadcast.

For a player, the difference is practical. Television gives a picture without streaming buffer delay, streaming — the ability to rewind and watch again the moment a specific ball came out. Since when have drawings been on television

The first Lotto drawing took place in 1957 and nobody saw it — the results were published in the press, later on the radio. Polish Television showed the drawing for the first time on 11 March 1973, that is sixteen years after the game began. The programme later changed channels: in 1996 it moved to Polsat, in 2010 it returned to TVP1, and since 2013 it has been broadcast on TVP Info.

Where to get results after the drawing

The broadcast is attractive, but most players check their coupon only the next day. It's worth distinguishing three levels of source reliability.

1. The official record of the Totalizator Sportowy drawing — the deciding source. Only it settles matters in case of discrepancies, and only on its basis are winnings paid out.
2. The operator's official website and app — they publish results directly after the drawing closes, usually within a few minutes.
3. External services, including this one — they take data from official Totalizator Sportowy announcements, so they show the same thing, but with a delay resulting from the refresh cycle.

The practical consequence: a difference between two services doesn't mean one of them is lying — most often, one has already updated and the other hasn't. The same rule applies to prize amounts. The number of winners at each prize tier is only established after all coupons have been counted, so the first published amounts are sometimes provisional.

Checking your coupon without a mistake

The most common mistakes don't concern the numbers, but the identification of the drawing. Lotto and Lotto Plus are drawn within a single episode of the programme, but they are two different sets of numbers — comparing a Lotto coupon with the Lotto Plus result gives a seemingly disastrous or seemingly great result, both false. Multi Multi and Kaskada have two drawings a day, so the date alone is not enough: you also need to know whether it's the afternoon or the evening drawing. Identify every result by a pair: date plus drawing number.

The second typical problem is multi-drawing coupons. A bet paid for several consecutive drawings must be checked separately for each of them — one miss doesn't close the matter. The deadline for collecting a prize is counted from the date of the drawing, not from the moment the player discovers the win, so putting off checking „for later, calmly” can be costly. Winnings: the tax-exempt threshold and tax

The drawing schedule and the way a prize is collected are two different matters, but players regularly confuse them. Winnings in number games up to 2280 PLN are exempt from income tax. Above this threshold, a flat-rate gambling tax applies, which the organiser withholds when paying out — the player does not file a separate declaration for this. The amount paid out in hand is therefore lower than the nominal value of the prize.

The 2280 PLN threshold is counted per single win, not per the sum of all hits from one coupon or from one month. Two wins of 2000 PLN each are two exempt amounts, not one taxed one — and conversely: a single win of 2300 PLN exceeds the threshold in full. Playing at a point of sale and online

The place where a coupon is bought does not affect the course of the drawing or the amount of the prize, but it does change how the prize is collected. A paper coupon from a retail point must be kept — it is the only proof that a bet was placed. A coupon submitted on the operator's official platform is saved to the player's account, and winnings up to a certain threshold are credited to it automatically. There is one hard point on the matter of security: in Poland, number games are organised exclusively by Totalizator Sportowy, and the only legal way to buy a coupon online is through its own website and app. Any other site offering „bets on Lotto results” operates outside the state monopoly, even if it looks professional and accepts card payments. Information services publish results and statistics, but they do not accept bets.

What you can't read from the drawing time

The steady rhythm of drawings tempts people into looking for patterns: whether Saturday drawings „behave differently” than Tuesday ones, whether the afternoon Multi Multi has a different distribution than the evening one. Every drawing is independent of the previous ones, and the drawing machine has no memory — the day of the week and the time have no effect on which balls come out. The history of drawings shows what has come up in the past, and nothing more: Lotto number statistics are a description of what has been, not a prediction of what will be.

Knowing the schedule has a different, real value: it lets you place a bet in time before the betting deadline closes, watch the drawing live and check your coupon within a reasonable time. That is all that drawing times really give you.
