Lotto online — who legally sells tickets in Poland

Lotto tickets online are sold in Poland by one entity: Totalizator Sportowy, through the lotto.pl website and the official mobile app. Number games are covered by a state monopoly, so any other website accepting money for „participation in Lotto” is selling something different from what it claims. The purchase channel itself has no effect on the outcome — the odds of hitting six numbers are 1 in 13,983,816 whether the ticket comes from a retail outlet or from a bet tapped on a phone.

Who legally sells Lotto tickets online

Number games — Lotto, Lotto Plus, Mini Lotto, Multi Multi, Kaskada, Eurojackpot — are covered in Poland by a state monopoly operated by Totalizator Sportowy. Legal channels are physical retail outlets, the lotto.pl website and the official app. There is no third way, and there are no licensed intermediaries selling tickets on a player's behalf.

Two mechanisms are often confused with legal play. The first is a bet on the draw outcome: the company does not buy any ticket at all, it simply accepts a bet on how many numbers will come up. The second is intermediation — someone claims to buy a ticket on your behalf and scans it into a panel. In both cases your agreement is with the intermediary, not with the lottery organiser, and payout depends entirely on that intermediary's solvency. If the company disappears, there is no one to claim the prize from.

Proof of participation in the game is the ticket, or its digital equivalent issued by the organiser — not a transfer confirmation to any given company. When are Lotto draws held

Lotto draws are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Lotto Plus is played in the same draw, requires a separate stake and uses a separate set of balls. Ticket prices changed on 18 August 2026, so always confirm the current price list with the organiser — the date next to this text is no guarantee that the amount is still the same.

How much is the tax on Lotto winnings

Since 1 January 2026 the flat-rate tax on winnings in number games has been 15 procent. The tax-free threshold has not changed and remains PLN 2,280 — a prize up to and including that amount is tax-free, and above it the tax is calculated on the whole amount, not just the excess. The organiser withholds it at payout, so the amount reaching your account is already reduced.

For a PLN 10,000 win, the tax comes to PLN 1,500, leaving PLN 8,500 to be paid out. At PLN 2,280 there is no tax at all, while at PLN 2,281 it is already PLN 342.15 — a difference of one złoty in the prize gives a difference of over three hundred złoty in tax. Does buying online change your odds of winning

It does not. The total number of combinations of six numbers out of forty-nine is 13,983,816, and it follows from the rules of the game, not from the sales technology. Buying a ticket in the app does not add any combination, does not remove any, and does not change the draw distribution. The drawing machine has no idea where a bet came from, and has no way of finding out.

The same principle debunks the belief in „overdue numbers”. A ball numbered 13 that hasn't come up in forty draws has exactly the same probability in the next draw as any other — the drum keeps no statistics and does not remember the previous draw. How to spot a seller of „sure numbers”

Websites selling programs, subscriptions and „systems” claiming to boost your odds are still active online. Five signals let you spot them within a minute.

• The word „guaranteed” in any form. There is no guarantee in a lottery, and no one can give one.
• A fee for access to numbers. Legitimate statistics describe draws that are public anyway — there is nothing to sell.
• Screenshots of winnings with no way to verify them. An image of a ticket proves nothing.
• Accepting money for „participation in the draw”. Only the game's organiser may legally do this.
• Silence about probability. A website that gives you numbers but not the odds is hiding something.

Five rules for safe online play

1. Play only through the organiser's official website and app. Type in the address yourself, not from a search-engine ad.
2. Set a monthly budget before placing your first bet, and don't raise it after a run of losing draws.
3. Don't chase your losses. The next bet won't get back the previous ones — every draw is independent.
4. Check your bet history in your player account instead of relying on memory.
5. Treat the money spent as an entertainment cost, not an investment. The expected value of a bet in every lottery is negative.
