Number decades in draws

How often numbers from each block of ten (1–10, 11–20, …) came up. We count hits, not draws: one Multi Multi draw gives 20 hits, one for every number drawn. Random model: N × 20 × (numbers in the decade ÷ 80). The last decade is often shorter, so its expectation is lower.

Hits in range (N = 50 draws)

1,000

N × 20 numbers picked, source: history

Most above expectation

71-80

134 hits against 125,0 expected (+9,0)

Most below expectation

41-50

117 hits against 125,0 expected (−8,0)

Hits versus the random model

Each bar shows how many drawn numbers fell into the decade. The dashed line joins the expected counts of the random model; the last decade is shorter, so its expectation is lower. 0 134 Decade 1-10: 132 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 11-20: 124 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 21-30: 125 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 31-40: 127 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 41-50: 117 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 51-60: 123 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 61-70: 118 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Decade 71-80: 134 hits, expected 125,0, N = 50 Random-model expectation per decade

Bars: hits from history; dashed line: random-model expectation for the same N.

Hits by decade

Hits = how many times a number from this decade came up in the N draws (history). Expected = N × 20 × numbers in the decade ÷ 80 (model). Difference = hits − expected.

decadehits% of hitsexpecteddifference
1-10 132 13,2% 125,0 +7,0
11-20 124 12,4% 125,0 −1,0
21-30 125 12,5% 125,0 +0,0
31-40 127 12,7% 125,0 +2,0
41-50 117 11,7% 125,0 −8,0
51-60 123 12,3% 125,0 −2,0
61-70 118 11,8% 125,0 −7,0
71-80 134 13,4% 125,0 +9,0

In 50 draws the most hits above the model went to decade 71-80 (+9,0), the fewest to decade 41-50 (−8,0). The difference alone does not settle statistical significance; this describes the past, it is not a tip.

Random-model simulator — see ordinary random variation

Generate independent draws with the rules of this game and compare observed counts with the common expected value. Every run is different.

What do these numbers show?
  • In 50 draws numbers from decade 71-80 came up 134 times, while the random model gave 125,0 — 9,0 more. That is the decade furthest above expectation in this range.
  • The weakest decade was 41-50: 117 hits against 125,0 expected — 8,0 fewer.

These are historical data. Each draw is independent of previous draws, so these numbers do not tell us what will be drawn next.

How do I use this page?
  1. Choose a number of recent draws or a range of years.
  2. Check the number of hits in bands of ten numbers.
  3. The percentages refer to all drawn numbers, not to the number of draws.
  4. Compare the hits with an expectation that accounts for the size of the decade.

What this page does not do: it does not predict future results and does not improve your chance of winning.
