MANOVA calculator for two dependent variables
For every group paste X and Y in matching observation order.
Group means for X and Y
| Group | n | Mean X | Mean Y |

How to use this page
- Paste paired X and Y values for at least two groups.
- Review means, scatter plot and Wilks' lambda.
- Assess assumptions and plan follow-up analysis.
What this page does not do: This version supports two outcomes and up to four groups. The approximation assumes independent observations, reasonable multivariate normality, similar covariance matrices and a nonsingular E matrix.

MANOVA tests whether group mean vectors differ jointly across two related outcomes. Wilks' lambda near 1 indicates little separation relative to within-group variation; a smaller lambda indicates a larger multivariate effect.
The calculator constructs E and H matrices and approximates the p-value with Bartlett's chi-square transformation.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the result approximate?
Lambda is transformed to a chi-square statistic. More exact methods depend on groups, outcomes and sample size.
Does MANOVA replace plots?
No. Always inspect distributions, outliers and the X–Y relationship within groups.
