How do I use this page?
  1. Fill in the fields in the form above — the result recomputes at once, with no page reload.
  2. Under the result you will find the interpretation scale, if the calculator has one: it says which range your value fell into.
  3. The formula we use is shown lower on this page — you can check the arithmetic yourself.
  4. To compute the same for another game or variant, change it in the select field — prices and pools update automatically.

What this page does not do: The model assumes a constant interest rate and entered payment rules. A bank may use different dates, rounding and fee conditions.

Theory — what is a loan overpayment calculator?

A loan overpayment calculator compares the standard repayment schedule with a variant adding an extra one-time or regular payment to the principal. The overpayment lowers the balance the bank charges interest on, so the earlier it hits the principal, the longer it benefits the borrower. The tool shows two options: shortening the term at the same payment, or lowering the future payment at the same term, with total interest shown before and after. Shortening the term usually cuts total interest more than lowering the payment.

Frequently asked questions

What does the loan overpayment calculator include?
The calculator rebuilds the remaining schedule after the selected overpayment month. A term-reduction strategy keeps the regular payment where possible; a payment-reduction strategy spreads the lower balance over the remaining term.
Is this result exact?
The model assumes a constant interest rate and entered payment rules. A bank may use different dates, rounding and fee conditions.
Which values should I enter?
Use current values from your agreement, offer, payroll documents or official records. Do not replace unknown costs with zero unless zero is correct.
Can I use the result to compare scenarios?
Yes. Keep the same assumptions and change one input at a time. The result remains an estimate rather than an offer or official settlement.
