Theory — how is Polish treasury bond redemption calculated?
TOS, COI and EDO are retail savings bonds from the official offering, each accruing interest in a different way. TOS compounds interest and pays it out only at redemption, and EDO works similarly, compounding throughout the whole term. COI pays interest after every year, so it does not add to the principal in later periods. From the second year onward, the calculator applies one shared method for COI and EDO.
Frequently asked questions
Do COI and EDO accrue interest in the same way?
No. COI pays interest annually, while EDO compounds it and pays it at redemption.
Where do the rates and margins come from?
From the official October 2026 Polish Ministry of Finance offer. The public-data importer updates the snapshot.
Does the result include early redemption?
No. Early redemption may involve a fee specified in the terms of the issue.
