Fuel Consumption Calculator
Enter the distance driven and the amount of fuel filled up, and the calculator will work out consumption per one hundred kilometres.
How to use this page
- Fill in the fields in the form above — the result recomputes at once, with no page reload.
- Under the result you will find the interpretation scale, if the calculator has one: it says which range your value fell into.
- The formula we use is shown lower on this page — you can check the arithmetic yourself.
- To compute the same for another game or variant, change it in the select field — prices and pools update automatically.
What this page does not do: It does not point to numbers to play and does not predict a draw — every draw is independent of the previous ones.
Further reading
The calculation is straightforward: you divide the litres filled by the kilometres driven and multiply by one hundred. At 540 km and 34.5 litres that gives 6.39 l/100 km. At a price of 6.29 zl per litre, a hundred kilometres costs 40.19 zl, and the whole trip 216.71 zl. Prices in the example are illustrative and change weekly.
For the measurement to make sense, you need to fill up to full. Pull into the same station, fill up until the pump clicks off automatically, and reset the trip counter. At the next fill-up, again to full, you read off the distance and litres from the receipt. One reading on its own doesn't tell you much — city driving can use up to two litres more than the motorway. Average out three or four fill-ups.
Onboard computer readings tend to be optimistic. A difference of around five to ten percent in the manufacturer's favour is normal. Your calculation from receipts is more reliable, because it's based on the litres you actually paid for. Fuel consumption is affected by tyre pressure, roof boxes, air conditioning and driving style. Underinflated tyres alone can add half a litre per hundred.
Frequently asked questions
How much fuel does a car use if it consumed 34.5 litres over 540 km?
6.39 litres per 100 km. At a price of 6.29 zl per litre, that's 40.19 zl for every hundred kilometres.
Why does the onboard computer show less than my calculation?
Onboard computers usually understate consumption by 5–10 percent. The result from receipts and the trip counter is more accurate, because it accounts for the litres actually filled.
How many measurements do you need for a reliable result?
At least three consecutive full tank-ups. A single measurement depends on whether you drove in the city or on the motorway — the difference can reach two litres per hundred.
Does air conditioning raise fuel consumption much?
In the city, by as much as 0.5–1 litre per 100 km. On the motorway the difference is smaller, because the compressor runs more efficiently at higher engine speeds.
