Theory — how to convert a decimal to a fraction?
Converting a decimal to a fraction means writing it with a denominator that is a power of ten, then reducing it. The number of decimal places determines which power of ten goes into the denominator before reduction. For example, 0.375 becomes 375/1000, and dividing both the numerator and denominator by 125 gives 3/8. This method works only for terminating decimals, not for repeating ones.
