What do these numbers mean?
  • Compare the total cost, not only the first monthly amount.
  • A lower monthly payment can result from a longer term and a higher total cost.
  • After losing student status or turning 26, insurance obligations must be checked again.

Insurance settings must reflect the real situation. The calculator does not decide concurrent titles, work for one's own employer, study interruptions, the 30-fold cap or annual settlement.

How do I use this page?
  1. Enter values from your current offer, agreement or official documents.
  2. Choose the options that match your actual situation.
  3. Calculate the result and compare the detailed components.
  4. Test an alternative scenario before making a decision.

What this page does not do: Insurance settings must reflect the real situation. The calculator does not decide concurrent titles, work for one's own employer, study interruptions, the 30-fold cap or annual settlement.

Theory — how are tax and contributions calculated for a contract of mandate?

A contract of mandate is a civil-law agreement that usually involves ZUS contributions and PIT tax. For a standard contract, deductible costs equal 20% of income after social contributions have been withheld. A pupil or student under 26 is generally exempt from these contributions when the contract is signed with an entity other than their own employer. The calculator computes gross-to-net results for a standard contract, concurrent insurance, and the pupil-or-student variant, showing contributions, PIT and total cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does a student under 26 always receive gross equal to net?
No. It depends on valid pupil or student status, age, the insurance title, whether the work is for the person's own employer and eligibility for PIT zero.
Does a student under 26 pay ZUS on a contract of mandate?
Generally no if the person has pupil or student status, is under 26 and the contract is not with or for their own employer. Check exceptions with ZUS.
Are PIT zero and the contribution exemption the same rule?
No. Young-person relief concerns PIT, while pupil or student status under 26 may exclude contributions for an eligible contract. One does not automatically imply the other.
Can I use the result to compare scenarios?
Yes. Keep the same assumptions and change one input at a time. The result remains an estimate rather than an offer or official settlement.
What changes after turning 26 or losing student status?
The contribution exemption for an eligible pupil or student under 26 ceases to apply. The contractor should promptly inform the principal of the status change.
