The basic rules Mini Lotto are extremely simple, very similar to those known from Lotto. The main difference is the number of numbers to be marked, one bet is indicating five out of 42. There are three ways to place bets, which ensures that the game is generally available for every player. Tickets can be sent at any stationary point, which can be found in practically every place. You can either mark your numbers yourself, and then they will be read and written on the ticket, you can also decide to bet "quick pick". In this case all numbers are randomly selected by the registration device. On one form you can indicate up to ten single bets, there are no restrictions related to the number of forms. Additionally playing Mini Lotto you can use the Super Chance, i.e. participating in an additional draw of a 7-digit number from the ticket. The Super Chance is marked in the appropriate place on the form.

All bets in Mini Lotto can also be placed online and via the special application Lotto installed on phones. During the first years all draws of the Mini Lotto were held exactly the same, as draws Lotto, that is every two days, from Tuesday to Saturday. In mid-April 2014 they were extended to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and since early December 2015 they are held throughout the week.
